Organizational life cycle (OLC)

Organizational life cycle (OLC) is a model that attempts to apply a general prediction for the development of businesses. It is partially based on a comparison to biological organisms or systems. While there are many variations on the OLC model, most are comprised of the following stages (or variations thereupon):

  • start-up
  • growth
  • maturity
  • decline
  • death/revival
